Alexander Lüdi (Alexander Luedi) is the owner and General Manager of Arlanco Power Limited. He is a seasoned professional with an international career in engineering, finance, manufacturing, and industrial services.
He holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich and an MBA from the International Management Institute, Geneva (now IMD Lausanne).
Alexander began his career as an oil-field engineer with oil company Shell. During this time, he gained hands-on experience in the design, prefabrication, and installation of onshore and offshore oil and gas production facilities.
After completing an MBA in 1985, Alexander spent 10 years as a project finance professional with UBS, based in Zürich, New York City, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He was involved in numerous complex, structured, and syndicated non-recourse financings, collaborating with ADB, IFC, export credit agencies, and commercial banks. His projects spanned industries such as the Eurotunnel, coal-, gas-, and solar-based power generation, waste-to-energy, coal and gold mining, and rail and road infrastructure across Europe, the USA, Africa, and Asia.
In 1995, he joined the China Light & Power Group in Hong Kong as a developer of Independent Power Projects (IPPs) and served as International Finance Manager at CLP International Co. Ltd. He was primarily responsible for project finance activities for CLP's major power ventures in India, Taiwan, Thailand, and China.
From 1998 to 2002, Alexander held the role of Senior Project Finance Manager at US Company Mirant Asia Pacific Limited, focusing on financing power generation projects, particularly in China, India, the Philippines, and South Korea.
